Bunnies and Bees

Well, the Easter Bunny made it to our house this year -- TWICE! We let him know that our family is trying not to have as much candy around, so he brought a few more toys this year. Hunter got his own toy remote. Rebecca -- a Dora backpack with all the fixins for a good exploration. Breanna -- two mini My Little Ponies. Sarah -- a Furby (you can ask later how that came about). For the whole family -- seven little goldfish.

However, after putting batteries into Sarah's Furby, it didn't work. In order for it to turn on, it needs to be hugged. Here's the drama:

Sarah: Mom, it's not working. It's a dead toy.
Erin: I wonder why it's not working.
Sarah: (crying-- A LOT) Why did the Easter Bunny bring me a dead toy. It doesn't even work. I've got a dead toy. Everyone else got a toy that works and mine is dead. Maybe I need to hug it a little harder. (no luck)

She went around the house repeating the "dead toy" and crying for almost one hour. Finally, she came to a conclusion ....

Sarah: Dad, can you call the Easter Bunny and tell him that he left me a dead toy?
Bruce: Sure, Sarah. I'll call him.
(Dials a phone number) Hello? Is this the Easter Bunny? The gift you brought Sarah is broken. Okay. Thanks. Bye.
The Easter Bunny will try and stop by with another toy this afternoon.
Sarah: Oh, thank you!

The Easter Bunny is now back in the good graces of Sarah. He left her a Barbie and this note...

After the drama of the morning, we went to church then off to Nannie's for a wonderful Easter dinner. We had to get pictures with the Easter outfits on Papa's incredibly green grass and beautiful flowers.

Altogether -- we've got really cute kids! They each have their own funny personalities! Looking at this picture makes me what to kiss, kiss, kiss their cheeks!

On to scarier news -- Guess what these are --

That is the fence just outside the bedrooms in the front of the house. We noticed some bees swarming around the front yard this week and decided to watch them. We noticed that they were entering and exiting a hole in the bricks. We got some spray and Bruce covered their hole with a rock. Now they have nestled their little selves outside of the brick all clumped together. Ahhh... put a call into the exterminator -- waiting for a call back.
